Project Name: DeRivera Park
Project Location: Village of Put-in-Bay
The Village of Put-in-Bay and our little guests, their parents, as well as local families, are thrilled with the enhancement to DeRivera Park playground. This addition was a spot-on improvement inour kiddie section of the playground.
Village employees expanded the existing kiddie playground area to incorporate the nearby middle kids’ playground area. The merging of these two areas means parents can keep a better eye on the littles and middles in one defined location.
The new kiddie swing set is a much safer design, and the inclusion of a handicapped swing is a thoughtful addition. Coincidentally, DeRivera Park Trustees were finished with two sea animal playground pieces that were donated to their side of the park. The Village offered to give them a new home and relocated the pieces into the expanded play area for more options of fun. This expanded area also has some plantings as a barrier to the road. Nearby the playground, the new water stations are also a welcome update to the dilapidated drinking fountains.
The Village playground area has a section for littles, middles, and older children. The older child playground was never finished due to lack of funds. Completing the handicapped accessibility to this part of the playground will be something the Village will be submitting for in the future. In the meantime, thank you again for your worthwhile contribution to the Put-in-Bay DeRivera Park Playground.
