Islander Woods and Trailhead to OPEN on Friday, July 24t!
Guided Tours, led by Executive Director Jannah Wilson, will be held at 2pm, 3:30pm, and 5pm, on July 24.
Tours will last approximately 45 minutes each. No registration needed. Free, and open to the public.
Islander Woods and Trailhead opens to the public on Friday, July 24, 2026! Starting July 24, 2026, this new park area will be open sunrise to sunset, and will provide a scenic nature trail around Bob’s Pond, an immersive Nature Play area, access to fishing, native vegetation restoration, interpretive signage, picnic tables, a drinking fountain and water bottle fill station, a portable restroom, and a seven-car accessible parking area. A wildlife observation area will also be installed.
We will continue to provide updates as Contractor D2 Excavating performs work at the site. The park area is currently closed to the public, and all Park District of Ottawa County Rules and Regulations are in place.
