Project Name: Duff Homestead and Bayfront Preserve Access

Project Location: Put-in-Bay Township

The Put-in-Bay Township Park District received a Park District of Ottawa County Parks and Trails Improvement Grant in 2024 for the Duff Homestead and Bayfront Preserve Access. At the Duff Homestead Woods, an overhead entrance sign, bicycle rack, benches, and fencing for a birding trail were purchased. An entrance ramp for the Duff Homestead Visitor Center/Contact Station was installed.

The Lake Erie Islands Conservancy purchased native plants for along the ramp and front of the house. The Duff Homestead and Bayfront Preserve Access (6.5 acres with lakefront) was dedicated on August 3, 2024. An entrance sign was purchased with an Ottawa Sandusky Seneca Solid Waste District Grant thatincludes the logo of the Park District of Ottawa County.
