Project Name: Strategic Plan for Parks and Recreational Equipment
The Village of Elmore received a 2025 Parks and Trails Improvement Grant totaling $32,717 to fund a Strategic Plan for Parks and Recreation Equipment study. The Mannik and Smith Group assessed the Village’s five existing parks and a potential sixth park.
The assessment summarizes each park’s size, purpose, parking availability, accessibility, and relationship to other Village amenities. Community input was gathered through surveys sent to Elmore residents within Village limits, with responses from households ranging from families with children and teens, to older adults.
The study identified park-specific needs, including improvements to existing surfacing, playground equipment, and safe traffic and pedestrian circulation. A public meeting was also held to collect additional feedback on safety concerns for park users.

Congested parking was identified as a high-priority issue. Participants discussed layout changes that would increase parking capacity and improve traffic flow for older adults and parkgoers with mobility needs. These changes would also help first responders access the park more effectively during emergency calls.

The Village plans to use the recommendations from the Mannik and Smith Group assessment and the public meeting to make park improvements that create a safer, more enjoyable environment for all visitors.
